When someone says they have the Big Slick, it means they have an Ace and a King, a big power combo in the game.
Can you guess what a King and a Nine is called? It�s K9 naturally, it�s Canine. Of course, double eights mean you have Snowmen because the 8 looks like a snowman. When you have an Ace and an Eight, it means you have a Dead Man�s Hand. The Dead Man�s Hand came about because this combination was what player Bill Hickok was holding when he was slain.

When you think about it, the nicknames that players use in their games actually make the game a little more interesting, amusing and entertaining. While the seriousness of the game is, of course, evident, especially during a poker tourney, keeping light of the game itself adds up to the players� and the spectators� enjoyment of the game.
